i put my 3 year old in a twin bed when she was able to get up and down off the bed which i think she was around 1 maybe 14 months old and put like a rail on the bed cause it was the only way we could get her to sleep in her bed was a twin bed but doc said that it was ok just dont put it next to like a night stand or dresser u know in case she rolled out of the bed so that way she wont hit her head on it

Im thinking the same thing. My daughter has just started trying to climb out and Im worried she will hurt herself. Most of the advise I have been given is to wait if they are not trying to climb ut yet but if they are try the change. HOWEVER noone ever says that if putting them in a bed doesnt work that you cant go back to the Cot. So give it a try and if your child doesnt agree with it after a few days then bring back the cot.

my son was about 15 months when we changed him over, but my nephew was in a crib until two months ago. (my son and my nephew are 2 weeks apart, they are both almost 2 1/2 now). what caused my husband and i to think ti was time to switch, our son started climbing out. and the same thing for my nephew. he just took a bit longer to want ot climb out of bed (he was climbing into bed for a long time). My son's crib was one that converts to a toddler bed. so he had him 'help' when we changed it over and he was SO excited. first night was pretty rough but he noticed that it was the same bed and relaxed.

i put my little girl in her toddler bed when she was 2, she was quite scared at first, i put a bed guard on the side and got her a pretty duvet set but it did take her a little while to get used to it. also put stairgate on bedroom door otherwise she will be coming out of room all the time xx

its usually when they try to climb out of it. I put my son in a toddler bed when he turned 2 and loved it from the start!

I say leave her in her crib as long as possible.. As long as she is not trying to clib out of it or getting to tall for it - that may be a hazzard. I know my son slept better in his crib and my 22 mo. old daughter would try climbing in with me every night if i gace her the freedom to climb out of her bed. I plan on leaving her in her crib until she is in risk of danger or when i can reason with her enough to stay in her bed.

I think that at 2 yrs is the best time. My sons 2nd birthday he got a mcqueen bedset and a toddler bed and he loved it ! If you know what they like even stickers that can easily come off add them or let your toddler add some additions to make them feel more comfortable with the change

i put my daughter in her toddler bed at about 15 months. we moved to a new house and her bed was a convertable one so instead of setting it up as a crib (which she hated anyway) we set it up as a toddler bed and she has slept in her bed ever since. at first i put pillows on the ground so if/when she rolled out of bed which only happened for like the first month. she loves her bed and making it in the morning
