My girls are 2 years and 10 months apart, so basically almost 3 years. I love it! It's perfect! We basically started trying when the first was 2 or so. The nice thing was she was getting over the being attatched stage so she wasn't jealous, and she understood she was having a baby sister so she was excited too! Now that they are 4 and 15 months it is great because she is such a big help with her little sister. The second one ended up being colicky for the first 6 months of her life so I don't know what I would have done had she been much younger! Whew those were hard nights!!!

I have four children. My first two are 13 months apart, my second and third are 2.5 years and the last two are 14 months apart. I much prefer the closer ones now that they are older. They play so well together and their schedules are basically the same. When I had newborns though it was really easy having toddlers and a newborn with the 2.5 year age gap verses having a newborn and an older baby. It is really a personal decision there is no wrong one! Our middle ones would of been just as close if we would of had the choice but we weren't financially ready for a third until then.

I have a 3 year old and a 5 month old, they are almost 3 years apart to the day.  I originally wanted only 2 years between my kids, but with my husband being deployed that was impossible.  I will admit that I love the difference in age, because my 3 year old is such a help, and is a little more capable of understanding the situations.

We didn't really try, I just stopped taking the pill and we pretty much got preggo right away. Our 1st will 2 in March and our 2nd will be born around the same day (16th for the 1st and a due date of the 18th for the 2nd) It really is a personal choice and how much you think you can handle. I didn't want to be out of the diaper stage and then have to get back into all the baby stuff. It's really up to you and if you stay at home and what your body tells you.
