Why does my 2 year old still put things in her mouth?

The easiest answer would be 2 refer to Freud's oral fixation. babies are born with the natural instinct to find the nipple in order to eat. so it can be said that your child is engaging in this behavior as he/she feels that it is safe. Basically it is what is known to him/her & that provides security and comfort.

Because some kids still use their mouths to explore things.
It's normal. Just keep gently reminding her not to put things in her mouth that she shouldn't. She will out grow it eventually.

It sounds like she is exploring her sensory skill which is completely normal. It's a long phase that should end soon enough. :)
