I constantly take her to the restroom, taught her how to say it, bought her panties and a pot, but she keeps telling me after she does it. She is driving me nuts!!!

She will get it on her own time. My daughter did that for a long time, would tell us after. Then she got peeing down and about 4 months later got pooping and only last week is fully potty trained, over nights included. She is 3 years 6 months. We started working with her on her 2nd birthday. As irritated as we got with the situation, she did it in her own time and once we realized nothing we could offer her was going to speed her up it became easier. It was extremely frustrating and I wish that I had an instant answer for you.

hay hun how old is your lil one? to be honest it probably just means she is not quite ready yet. ive resantly potty trained my 2year old, but 3 months before she was achually trained she would tell me after the fact, wheather that was on the floor or in her nappie. we praised her even for the acidents saying "ya katie did a wee" she would be so happy after even an aciedent, we would tell her to do it on potty and even got her older brother to show her how. when she did it in the potty omg i think everyone danced with her, she was so happy. hope this helps, dont loose hope keep trying you will get there,

LOL,well I do have another one on the way and was hoping I could have her potty trained before this one got here around Valentines day. It's about a month before her second birthday. We are gonna ease down on her a little bit because I think she's starting to get frustrated too. I think she will tell me or show me when she is ready. Thanks for the advice Barbara!! :) KIT!

18 months is very little, my little one was 19 months and i thought the same smart lil girl, my boys where at least 24 months and even older when trained. i gave katie a week at 19 months and said if we had no change the we would putt nappies back on her but keep talking to her and we tryed again in 6 to 8 wks and again she was not quite ready, then in july age 22month she said to me wee mum and she did it on the potty and that was that no more nappies, i think somthimes they are just not quite ready, keep on trying but if she gets no where she is so lil give her a lil time thats probably all she need. my lil one is two now and taking her self to the potty. so grown up i think it a girl thing they are just so independent.

Thank you so much Nic. She just turned 18 months on September 7th. My husband and I figured that that was the answer that we were gonna get. I thought that because she learned the "proper" words to tell me when she has to go that would make it easier but it's not. Just making it messier :) I want to continue to try regardless of the accidents cause I know that she is a smart girl and is trying to get the hang of it but it sure does drive me crazy when she's in panties and had booboo running down her legs :) I think I will try the positive approach too. I don't want her to be scared when she has an accident. Just want her to learn the proper place to do it. Again Thanks for the advice and I will keep it in mind!! Take care dear.
