My son is 17 months and saying 10-15 words. I feel like he should be saying more. He had ear tubes put in November 2009. I found out yesterday there was scar tissue from an eruption in his ear. Could this be why he's not saying more words clearly?

Understanding what you are saying appears to be more important. Kids develop at different rates, my friends son at 25 months was saying full on sentances, another friends son doesn't say much (especially in public) and my son is in the middle. Also I think if one of the parents wasa slow speaker it can affect things.

Heh, my pediatrician isn't concerned that my 18 month old daughter is only saying 5 words.. her comprehension is amazing though.. I woudn't worry about it.

all kids develop at their own pace. Check with your pediatrician if you're concerned, but I wouldn't worry. He'll be talking up a storm soon enough!

Dont worry my son is 2 he dnt talk much say about 40 words. I called the school and set up that thing with parent as teachers they come to your home and work with them. If he gets alot of ear infections I seen on Dr.Oz they can do this procedure and stick somthin in the ear to prevent ear infections. It was neat.
