If you have twins you have definitely received the "Are they twins?", "Better you than me", "You've got your hands full" and other comments. List the most annoying.

Ok I just have today it. You will miss these days soon enough and one day you will find yourself following around some young girl with a set of twins or triplets and you will try and bond with her. She is going to look at you crossed eyed and you will remember reading this post. Mine are 8 and I now look back fondly at every person who cared to talk to me, ask question ..stupid or not, or just tell me how lucky I was. Yes they have no idea just how tired you are but try to love ever minute. I had set answers to ever question and I always told people they were sick so they would not get to close!! I had a boy and a girl. My favorite question was "Are the identical ??". To which I would say, "Yes, except for the penis!!". Always a show stopper!!

I get "you've got your hands full" and "double trouble" every time I go somewhere. It does get irritating. The other day I was asked which one was the boy and which was the girl. It's pretty obvious when one is in blue and the other pink! I think anyway. LOL

The most annoying is that you are always reminded your the younger one. By 2 minutes. We will be the great age of 60.... So many more years for you young mothers and enjoy them....

I hear plenty of the comments previously posted. I have 12yr, 7yr, 3yr & 18mo identical sons. When people say "I don't know how you do it" I usually respond with "I have a glass or two of wine after they all go to bed". The most annoying thing I hear doesn't come from a stranger, though. Whenever my mother-in-law sees the twins she always asks which is which. When I tell her, her response is always "are you sure?" Um, hello!! I think I know my own children.

"Double trouble!!" always annoys me - especially when the person saying it has two or more kids in tow themselves!!

I was congratulated by a childcare worker at the gym for NOT dressing my girls alike. Didn't have the heart to tell her several times a week they are in co-ordinated or matching outfits, and I even dress them exactly the same on special occasions. Oh the horror!!

Unfortunately, the dumbest comment I ever received was from my own husband. When I told him I was expecting twins he replied "How is that possible? I don't remember having sex twice in one night."

I get all the time: "Are they twins?", "Better you than me", "You've got your hands full", "Do you sleep at night", "Are they boys?" and they are clearly wearing bright pink n purple with a flower in their hair. Plus I hear :Wow you have twins, where did they come from you are so small" or "Do twins run in your family". Even if I am out all 3 girls some will say "Wow they look just like you and not daddy" or "the girls all look alike are they triplets?" One time I had someone tell me the girls look all like me and not daddy and I said "oh yeah that is right cause they are not his. Mean while all three of my girls are completely alike and look all like there daddy and nothing like me.

Oh this is too good! I have identical girls and people still say oh "one boy and one girl?" I'm like no they are both girls and wearing matching outfits!
I have people follow me around the store trying to look in the car seats to see them. I also have people say "Awe I always wanted twins!" I'm like no you don't its more of a challenge than one baby plus I have two toddlers on top of my 4 month old twins which makes it even harder. Other questions are "Who's family do the run in? Your's or your husbands?" I'm like Fraternal twins run in families our are identical and so that is something that happens, and even if they ran in my husbands family that has nothing to do with me having twins it would have to come from my side to get them if they were not identical" haha its funny, but annoying too.
Oh one more "They are identical! Oh my! You know that is good luck?" lol

I had someone answer one of those prying questions like this:
stranger-Did you have a c-section?
mom-Are you wearing a thong?
I bet that shut the stranger up!

Also, this is not twin related, but an annoying comment all the same. My twins have curly hair and when they were a year old people would ask if their curls were natural. Of course it is, who the heck perms a one year old's hair???

My fraternal girls were flower girls in a wedding when they were almost 3. A lady at the wedding asked me as I was walking past her if they were sisters. I answered "yes" as I continued walking, but her tone irritated me so I stopped, turned around and said "actually they are twins". She actually argued with me that they are not. I hate how a lot of people think that to be twins they have to look exactly alike. My girls do look very alike, in fact, a lot of people ask me how I tell them apart. So I don't know where that crazy woman got off telling ME - their MOTHER - that they are not twins.

lol I have the same problem as kelly, I have 4 year old twins and a 3 year old, and they always assume that the 3 year old and the 4 year old boy are the twins.... I generally get the "Really?" I just want to say no I am lying to you...
another time when the twins were little babies I actually had someone argue with me about whether b/g twins could be identical or not....

I have a girlfriend who has a boy and a girl and people ask her all the time if they are identical! And their hair color isn't even the same, either.
I end up with the 'where did they get their red hair?' obviously it's in their genes because I can't even find a box with that shade on it!

We don't get many questions or comments anymore since my boys are almost 14. But, people that know they are twins have asked me recently if they are really connected like people say. You know, do they know when the other is hurt or do they feel the other's pain. I replied, "Yup....because they are the ones that inflict it on each other!" Got a good laugh followed by a reply of, "So they are just like my kids who aren't twins!"

It is always fun going out with twins. I have 7 yr old boy twins and people are always asking if I'm sure they are twins. I so much want to say that since I am their mother who would know better. The one I really like is when we are at the park and someone asks me how far apart are they. When I tell them a minute, they then ask if they are twins. I look at them and say "Uh, yeah." Then they ask if they a identical. Mind you we have been sitting there for awhile and they have seen them. They are almost 20 lbs and 4 inches differnt, and one looks like me and the other like his father.

I agree taking my twins out in public gets frustrating and annoying if your in a hurry or just dont feel well.. i have 8 1/2 weeks old boy/girl twins. i clearly dress one as a boy and the other as a girl.. i get the "are they identical?" "oh two boys" "oh im so sorry" " Your have your hands full" " yhou must never sleep" "thats gotta be expensive"" bless your heart" oh yea and "oh a boy and a girl arent you glad that its one shot andf you're done" really!?!?! glad to know other people are making that decision for me and my husband..

yesterday i almost smacked this lady for being so rude and ignorant... she was telling her son while pointing at my babies" look son thats our future right there, those are cute boys, are they identical... i say no.. and they are a boy and a girl not two boys.. not to mention my daughter was in a pink dress, " after i tell this woman thats its a boy and a girl she had the nerve to say" well she would make a cute boy" REALLY!?!?!?! it took everything i had not to smack her for that and call her the names i wanted to..

i understand people who dont have twins cant understand our frustrations and are facinated by twins.. but there is a thing called common sense and respect.. if you have boy/girl twins OBVIOUSLY they are not identical.. people just really need to use common sense more... if they were in our shoes maybe they would..

i love my babies and waited 6 long years for them to come into my life.. all the sleepless nights and money and exhaustion and stupid comments in the world will never change that.. in my opinion all those people making those comments are just jealous that we all get two beautiful babies at one time ;)

Goodness, I hate going out in public with mine period! Its like no one has ever seen twins before. I get every question in the book. Even the "both girls?" No, they are clearly dressed as boys. The one I hate the most is the "Oh I feel so sorry for you, You must have your hands full" Yeah but my heart is full! I really don't mind it if I am standing in check out but when they stop me and grab the stroller in the middle of me on a mission is what pisses me off. I can't stand that. I have even had people ask me if they could take pictures of them. Its nuts... I understand it a little bit just b/c my guys are just so darn cute, They look exactly alike and have dark brown curly hair with bright blue eye's so I mean I love taking pictures of them! :) LOL....

The most annoying one for me is "are they identical?" I have boy/girl twins so this extremely annoying. I also hate when people say "I could never have twins". It was not a choice, you just deal with everything one day at a time. People who don't have multiples don't understand, it is a lot of work but they also give you twice the love so I feel blessed to have them.

I hear 'double trouble' 50 times a day and it's all I can do to smile nicely and keep walking. Drives me insane! My boys are fraternal and 16 months old now. They have the same colouring but look completely different. When they were smaller people kept telling me they were identical, and now that they're older they don't believe they are twins. Like I would lie about that! Crazy!

- Yeah, wait 5 minutes and the other will catch up.

okay this not not something that was said but something that happened... i ran into walmart fast with my twins to get milk for my oldest, who is 1 and was also with me (3 kids alone already a pain) ... it was snowing so i had blankets over the carseats, when i walked into the store i got a cart, put my oldest in the seat, waws carrying on carseat and put the other inside the basker, took off the blankets, hats, and gloves of all three (right infront of the door checker dude ... raced in the back got milk and chked out at the 20 or less right by the same exit i came in at ... while the lady was ringing me out i goit eveyone bundled for snow ... hats, gloves, jackets and covered with blankets since i was right there at the door basically ... this is not a joke

as i was leaving the store, and all my three kids are starting to scream, the door checker stops me to ask for the receipt, my milk wasnt in a bag so i gave him the reciept, he looked at it and said, i kid you not, ARE YOU PLANNING ON PAYING FOR THE CARSEAT!! ...

it wouldnt have bothered me but they were all clearly occupied by very very very vocal infants and you just saw me come in here no less then 5 minutes ago

I always found it best to just laugh or else I would get angry or cry. My twins are now 13 and nothing alike. I get some "Are they really twins?" comments because on is 5'8" and 140 pounds and the other is about 5'3" and 90 pounds. Everyone at school knows them and that they are twins but they have no expectations anymore. Sometimes I look at them and actually miss the days of stupid comments.... My husband actually asked on of those stupid questions of his boss' twin grandkids. He wanted to know if they were ID and I pointed out that they are b/g and he laughed!
