Breastfeeding twins with teeth

Sarah - posted on 03/17/2010 ( 3 moms have responded )

Does anyone have any advice for simultaneously breastfeeding twins with teeth? I am getting cuts on my nipples, but not from them biting, just their sharp new little teeth rubbing during the nursing process. With my singleton son I could just switch positions or switch sides to reduce the trauma, but since I feed both of my girls on the twin nursing pillow concurrently (such a time-saver and and I don't want to give it up!), it makes the same parts of my nipples very raw where their teeth rub over and over. I rinse off and apply neosporin after every feeding, but I can only imagine it will get worse when they have teeth on the top and bottom.

Mine do that same thing, so I started nursing them one at a time in different positions! They each have 2 top and 2 bottom teeth!
