Sippy Cups

[deleted account] ( 6 moms have responded )

I have been breast feeding my twin boys and they are old enough to make the transition to a cup or sippy cup? Any thoughts on whether I should directly to a cup? If I should use a sippy cup, any suggestions as to which one? Thanks for your input.

My twins are 9 months old and I transistioned them to sippy cups for their water/ juice last month. They LOVE them, having the independance of holding their own drink. They still have their formula in a bottle but have no problem going from the bottle to the sippy, I bought quite a few brands and I found the Playtex to be the best- does not leak and they are very inexpensive ($5.00 each).

Hi there, my boys have their milk in a bottle, and juice/tea/water out a sippy cup. Avent has a nice one with a soft sippy spout so the can suckle it like they do a teat on a bottle and then gradually move to the ones they just suck on (hard plastic).

depends on your kids tho :)

Ive tried every sippy cup there is and the one I like the best is the Take and Toss cups. They sell them at Target and their cheap. They don't spill and if you loose it no big deal. Kids like them the best too.

Most doctors, dentists and anyone else in the health field will suggest moving straight to a regular cup. I personally used sippy's with my kids because they are easier... but it's totally up with you.

well, mine went from bottle to cup so i dont know if it will be the same. my boy went straight to cup with noproblem at all but my girl took about =amonth for her and we went through about 5 or 6 different types before we found one that she was comfortable with. make sure it is one they can get drink out of easily because they will not like the adjustment so much if it makes things more difficult. if it is a cup that is good for 4-6 months it should be easy enough. it will say the age on the packaging
