Have a tip on losing weight? I would be interested in reading everyone's biggest tips about losing weight. And I dont mean things like "Drink slim fast" or anything like that. The one tip I always hear from those skinny little cute girls that I stick my tongue out at is STAY AWAKE AT LEAST THREE HOURS AFTER EVERY MEAL. YOUR METABOLISM SLEEPS WHEN YOU DO.

OK, So I just asked the gorgeously skinny girl working out on the elliptical next to me at the gym one day what's her trick for staying in such great shape. Thankfully she had a good sense of humor and didn't think I was crazy, or hitting on her. She laughed and said she eats healthy...knew that one... and doesn't ever work out less than 50min 5 times a week. She said bumping up her workouts from 30 min to 60min made all the difference for shedding those last layers.

I stayed at the gym longer that day.

Honestly, I joined Weight Watchers. I have lost 48 lbs in about 8 months. You can still eat what you want, and it teaches you how to correctly protion your foods. It worked for me and my mom...she lost over 130lbs on Weight Watchers...it works.

I saw someone else wrote cutting back calories, I would be really careful with that. If your body gets used to having a calorie restricted diet then as soon as you start consuming a normal amount of food (which you need to in order to get enough nutrients and sustain yourself) you will gain the weight back,

restricting your calories will lower your metabolism. Of course it works... but it most likely wont be permanent and it really isn't the healthiest option.

don't eat processed food or any other food that is white. Whole grains only. Try cutting meat out of a few of your meals per week. A vegetarian meal usually has a lot more veggies and the same amount of protein.

Try to eat raw veggies and fruit every day. Eat a lean protein and a complex carb together every time you eat. Drink lots of water.(cut out soda ) Do some form of exercise 5-6 days a week, find some support and do a nutritional cleanse. I've found a good one, but I can't mention it in a post. :) Messge me if you want to know, it's really worked for me.

A good way to start the track to losing weight is my making changes to the food you eat, small things like changing from eating white bread to eating wholeGRAIN not wholemeal bread...The grainy type food has a lower GI value, which means it keeps you fuller for longer, I'm sure google could help you out with the sort of things that are low GI. Make sure you do at least 30mins of exercise 5 days a week (or more). Making the changes in food can be hard at first because it may take some time to get used to it, but after a while if u try the old stuff you won't like it that much (I used to eat white bread and white rice, I now eat wholegrain bread and brown rice, keeps me fuller longer and I can't stand the taste of the white stuff anymore!) I'm pretty bad though, for what I do good in eating the better foods, I eat a lot of junk, so my weight loss is pretty crappy. I am slowly starting to eat the way I was, nice and healthy, and also doing Zumba, have been doing it a week so far and already noticing a difference!

And remember...It is a lifestyle change! not a diet, diets don't work but if you change the lifestyle for good (e.g. type of foods you eat) not just a little bit like a diet does, it will work =)

My hubby has done the same thing. He cut out his Sugars, and salts. And he eats protein like its going out of style. He has lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks. He is a butt head ! lol

[deleted account]

My husband's latest thing that is working for him is cutting out all salt and sugar from his diet. He also works in 130-150 degree heat so that helps, the pounds are slidding off of him. He retains water like a pregnant woman, so I think that's why this works so well for him. He used to by this green tea mix that he got from friends and the bought more online, it worked well, but as soon as he went back to his normal eating the weight came back. I think it really has to be a life change for you, to work long term. Diets don't work, the weight always comes back, you have to change things in your life style that you can live with. I sometimes eat toast for breakfast and lunch and eat normal when my husband is home. (That's all I eat, 4 peices of toast and drink lots of water.) I loose weight doing that with putting only butter on white bread. I stay very active when I do that. But eating with my husband always puts it back on me, so we will see how it goes with his new diet and me managing my weight before during and after his diet of no salt or sugar.
