1 yr old and his love of carbs

My little guy was an amazing eater from the beginning. He was a perfectly chunky but healthy baby. For some odd reason at around 6 or 7 months he started to lose interest in solids. He went from 20 oz of breastmilk in 8 hrs and 2 jars of baby food a day to maybe a green bean or apple slices here or there. And drank maybe 9 oz in 8 hrs. Now that we have gotten him to eat more and more food he will only eat something with carbs/bread in it. For example: 3 mini berry muffins, some oranges, and sippy of milk. He will eat just the berry muffins. I've tried even just giving him the fruit or veggie, but he will throw them off his tray. Any ideas? Is it just a phase?

I agree with Raye, only offer him the fruit or vegge's. A child will not starve themselves, they will eat when they are hungry. Giving in now will only lead to bigger problems later. He is learning how to get what he wants, you don't want that at all. He needs to know that you are the parent and you make the rules, not him.

You need to be making sure he gets a variety of foods for proper nutrition. As he's growing right now, he's learning food habits that will stay with him throughout his life. Stop offering him carbs and give him fruits and veggies. If he's hungry enough he will eat. If he throws the food, he's not hungry.
