My 16 year old son suffers from anxiety and depression. He refuses to go to school or even leave the house most days. He is on anti depressants and goes to therapy, we have been through a lot of counslers hoping this one works. I have him on a home school program and he has to go to the library but he is starting to not want to go there either. I work full time I am a single mother, my sons doesn't want anything to do with his father since the divorce. I have tried to encourage him to see his father but he won't. I am at my wits end. He is a great kid, this just hurts me to see him likr this, it has been 4 years and i just want him to get back into life.

My heart goes out to you in regards to your situation with your son. Having been through a divorce, and caring for two teenage sons myself, I hear your concern with much empathy. I don't have answers but can give you hope and encouragement that all will work out in time. My boys took a long time to overcome their mixed up emotions about the divorce, one turned quiet and fell into his studies and friends, the other went on a rampage with parties, drug,s and disappearing. Can't tell you how many nights I spent awake in prayer, crying and feeling despair.

Fast forward 10 years, they both are married, work great jobs and our relationship is healed. I have to say that my faith with prayer held me together; while moving them eventually onto the right path. If your son doesn't want to speak to his father, maybe you need to talk to dad and ask that he reach out to your son. I also suggest that you get involved with the counseling by asking advice from the therapist or seeing one yourself. I went into therapy long past the time I should have, and it really cleared my head and gave me strength. Pastoral care, Counseling or psychotherapy is great medicine for the mind and soul. Keeping you in thought and prayers that life begins to bloom again.
