3 yr old daughter scared to go to sleep alone

hello new on here, i have a gorgeous 3 year old girl who has started having night terrors and also has suddenly become afraid of being in her own room in bed alone. She has gone through phases before but have always been able to rectify them with the supernanny approach of putting her back into bed without saying anything no problems. But now she is getting herself in such a state, crying so much makes herself sick and her heart rate rising, it seems it is a genuine fear rather than just playing me up, i have resolved to laying with her until she falls asleep and even staying with her part or all of the night. Has anyone else experienced this to this degree and if so did what approach did you take in dealing with it. As i said earlier she has also started having ocassional night terrors after which she just lays down and goes back off to sleep but this fear when i first put her to bed is worrying. I have tried all approaches, comforting, supernanny, etc and wonders if any other suffering mums out there have any advice. thanks x

Try giving her a stuffed animal to sleep with. She may feel safer with someone next to her. My daughter is 7 years old and sleeps with a stuffed animal or baby doll every night. If that dont work, then I would talk to your daughters peditrician and see what he/she suggests you do. Hope this helps and best of luck:)
