6 month old night waking

Hello! my 6 month old has been sleeping through the night for the past 3 months. Recently we changed his formula per the doctors suggestion to a formula that was not thickened with rice starch. We were on the original formula because he was spitting up, but now we are on a regular formula and he is doing great except he wakes up in the 2 or 3 o'clock hour seeming to be very hungry. He is eating about 30 to 36 ounces of formula per day plus solids twice per day. Usually fruit and veg puree. my question is, I am wondering if it is good to feed him in the night when he wakes up, or if he is starting to form a bad habit of teaching his body to eat during the night. I think he is getting enough during the day, but maybe he feels less full on the new formula? I am not sure. I never want to ignore my baby if he is truly hungry, but I also do not want to teach him to eat during the night and get used to that. Any advice would be great. Thank you so much!

Give him ginger ale and gatorade? Seriously?

Most definitely DO NOT give ginger ale OR gatorade! That is, unless you want to cause problems, reactions to excessive sugar, etc...

Your baby wakes at night because he is hungry. Its definitely OK to give him a bottle of formula or breast milk when he wakes.

Well I definitely have to agree with no Gatorade or ginger ale...WAY too young. My boys are 11 and 8 and I didn't give them Gatorade till they started sports in 2nd grade.

When is your last feeding of solids? I used to give my son a bowl of baby cereal at 6 and then a last bottle at 9 and he slept through the night.

Don't worry about the feeding at night. All babies are fed in the wee hours and I have yet to hear of it causing a problem or bad habits later in life. Babies grow at a huge rate right now. They need the calories.

Try to give small meals or healthy fruits or veggis. Also give him gingerale and Gatorade. Give him bananas, potatoes sweet or regular, rice, apples and applesauce. Dont make him used to any medicane. Could have 1-2 times only when sick. Follow me and you and your child will be safe. I promise!
