8.5 month old keeps crying when she's in her high chair. Am I spoiling her if I keep picking her up?

My 8.5 month old would sit in her high chair at dinner for about 5 minutes and then she would start crying. We've tried to distract her and even ignore her behavior, but she would start crying louder and louder. Or she would start arching her back screaming. Sometimes, she gets so upset, she starts sweating. I'm not sure what to do but I end up surrendering and picking her up most times. Once she's picked up, she's OK, and stops crying. Am I enabling a bad behavior? I'm afraid she won't learn to sit in her chair to eat and wants us to just feed her in our lap.

You aren't spoiling her by getting her out when she's freaking out. If you don't want her eating outside of her high chair though.... don't feed her after she's out. I don't know how you have your high chair set up, but would she prefer a booster seat at the table? Might help.
