My 9 1/2 month old son wakes up every couple of hours through out the night. He was breast feed until he was 8 months. I was hoping that when I got him onto the bottle he would sleep better. I feel like I'm doing something wrong and I'm a bad mum because all my friends babies had slept through since 8 weeks! Is this normal for some babies or am I doing something wrong. Has anyone got any tips on how I can get him to sleep through? I'm really finding it hard to cope now with now sleep.

I have tried not feeding him when he wakes and just putting his dummy but that has only worked a handfull of time and when it has he will just wake again an hour after. I have also tried controlled crying ( only if I have feed him an hour or two earlier and I don't believe he is hungry) but he gets himself in such a state and won't settle himself. He cried for up to an hour! I was sitting next to his cot shhhh-ing him, reassuring him I was there but it broke my heart and I ended up cuddling him. I have never done it again. I felt so awfull.
