Threads are locked at a certain number of replies ( depending on topic) - some threads are locked at 100 replies b/c they are repetitive (ie: eczema, cradle cap, diaper rash- questions such as these usually have 3 - 4 separate threads by different members posted at the same time), some are locked when the OP no longer replies to the other members, abandons the thread or deactivates their account. Most threads are locked when they reach 200 / 300 replies (again, depending on subject matter and OP participation), when inflammatory comments are made, arguments ensue, etc.

The author / original poster of the thread also has the option to lock at any time.

Threads will be deleted if they offer sales of product, business opportunities /business services or any kind of money scam. (the member posting these types of solicitations will be blocked from the community)

Please read the pinned threads at the top of the board for more information. They cover most of the questions regarding posting on CoM forums.
