ADHD is not an excuse. However, the chances are, this teachers hands are tied - she must have them in her classroom, and yet, she is also responsible for the safety of everyone in there. I must admit, I know exactly where she is coming from - I have some students with ADHD who deliberately choose not to take their medication, and some days they are bouncing off walls. There is little I can do other than call for student services to help out when this happens.

I think your best course of action is to talk to the teacher as a first point of reference and if that is not helping, make an appointment with the principal.

Absolutely not ok. Two of my kids have ADHD which means that they have impulse control issues. When they act out, they are punished. I don't want them using it as an excuse.
