Alienated Granparent

I have lost my son to a Drunk Driver 10 years ago, I have had his daughter every weekend since she was born. The mothers boyfriend was recently accused of molesting my grand-daughter and I brought proof of this to our DHS (child Protection Service). The mother is believing the boyfriend and is now not letting me see my grand-daughter. I have filed for Grandparents rights to get back my visitation -however it is taking forever. I ma so depressed and worried for her. What makes a mother believe a man ( who does not work, is a heavy drinker and sponges off her) over her own daughter.

I am sorry that you are going through something like this. Hopefully, the mother will wise up to see the light and stop causing her daughter harm, but you can't control her. You can only keep trying to go through the appropriate channels to make your granddaughter safe. I know it's easy for me to say "stay strong", but just know you're doing the best you can to save that little girl.
