Alternative education for son with ADHD & Aspergers

Our son was in public school from K-5. We took him out and began homeschooling this year. He has also been in a co-op one day/week. Now they want us to sit in all of his classes next semester because he is hard to redirect. We are very discouraged. We don't have much money and cannot afford private schools. Any advice or suggestions that have worked for you?

Have you had a learning and behavior eval done? If you contact the Dept of Special Ed, they can help you initiate a parent requested evaluation. The evaluation has multiple parts and be completed in 60 days. Then the group of evaluators will compile the findings and help make a plan to suit his learning needs, if there are any. Start there, and then see what you find out. If the determination is "no need for services" then you have to figure out why he loses focus and needs redirection. However, he may do just fine in public school with a few changes to his school day.
