Yes, you are making a mistake. You should try to arrange at least supervised visits for him with your child. It honestly doesn't matter whether you were married or not, he is still the father. If you wait until a judge agrees to allow the man to see his kid, the judge could consider this parental alienation. People end up losing custody for this kind of behaviour. So basically, provide him with some options where he has supervised visits so he can at least maintain his relationship with the child.

Then you either have to get him to agree, and get that signed by a judge. If he does not agree, then you have to appear before a judge and get the judge to determine what is best for the kid.

We arent married and he lives in a different state ihave possession of custody i just want a legal papersigned by a judge so he can have him on weekends

Depends, is he a danger to you or the baby? if not, then you are making a mistake. You made this child together and you both share the obligations and entitlements of parenting until baby is 18.
