Hi Everybody. So I am in the process of getting diagnosed with endometriosis. I'm only 27 years old. I'm in so much discomfort right now. Its freaking me out. Just two weeks ago I had a ruptured ovarian cysts which put me in the ER because of the pain. I just got off my period which is not normal at all. Its extremely light, short, and painful. I'm still in pain and my lower vaginal area is hurting a lot. Its like a throbbing and very uncomfortable type of pain. I can't take birth control because I have migraines and there are risks involved. I have a new ob/gyn who only works at her office once a week so it's sort of hard to get things on the roll. My only other option is doing the laporoscopic surgery but IM VERY VERY SCARED of surgery. It scares me so badly. I don't know what to do. I keep reading horror stories online about endometriosis and how having a hysterectomy did not work, even made things worse, how hormone treatment was a nightmare, etc. Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm scared, in pain, and desperate for any type of feedback. Thanks in advance.

I was diagnosed with endometriosis at the age of 23. It was horrible when I was in my 20s. I did have the laparoscopic surgery to remove adhesions and also did a couple of courses of hormone treatments. But I had my son at 28, and it seemed top reduce the symptoms by a lot. I had another child at 36 (I did have miscarriages in between). I am now 45 and still sometimes have painful periods and get some pain during ovulation, but as I said, for some reason, having the kids made a difference for me.
