Anyone ever heard of the white parts of your eyes having color?

Took my daughter to the doctor for a check up today and we noticed that the white part of her eyes have a blue tint to them. Anyone ever heard of this? Now I gotta take her to an eye doctor to make sure it's no biggie.

I see you found some answers, but I wanted to post give my two cents... my little brother's, my son's, and my daughter's eyes all had a bluish tint to them. My brother's doc said (and this was 22 years ago) that he was young and his eyes were just so white, they looked blue and that it would go away with time - it did. Then noticed it in both my kids, and their eyes are both fine, never had problems with either of their eyes (I have a 14 and a 3 y.o.), and their doctors also didn't think it was a concern.
BUT of course, if YOU truly feel something is wrong, by all means bring your child in.

Thank you all. I apprecitate you trying to help. I just googled it and the answer I got was that because of her age that it was a normal part of growing up and that the layers in her eye are so thin right now that you can see the color through. Then she'll get bigger and the layers will thicken and it'll turn more white. Hopefully that's all it is, but I'm still taking her to the doctor. What can I say... I'm a paranoid mommy :)

I know that holistic doctors can tell a lot about a person's health by looking into their eyes. You might want to seek out a doctor like that .

Could it possibly be a vitamin or mineral deficiency?? sometimes the whites of your eyes can change color when you are lacking in certain vitamins in your diet. It also can indicate a problem with other organs (i.e. if they are yellow, typically the liver isn't functioning properly) I'm sure it isn't anything too serious. I would just follow up with the eye dr. and also if they can't figure it out, maybe have the ped. do another once over.

My friend has two random black spots on the white of one eye... weird but they don't affect her at all.
I do know one guy that tattooed the white of one eye; totally weird and it just looks like a blob because apparently eyes don't hold ink well LMAO

Both my kids were a bit grey but it was never an issue. My daughter has "rays" on her eyes that look like the sun. Her eyes are dark blue and the rays are borwn. We found out they are moles on her eyes. I'm sure it will be fine but update wheny uo find out please for future refrence:)

Good luck!
