I bought a CVS brand and it has never worked properly. B/f spending another $50 or more, I thought I would seek advice. Name brands would be helpful. Thanks.

A friend of mine has one that you place on the childs temple and it gives you the temp. in just a few seconds. She said that it cost her about $80 and i want to get one. Don't remember the brand though....sorry

I had bought a million different thermometers for my son. From under the arm, rectal and even the ones you stick on like a sticker under is armpit. I also had the forhead scan which was suppost to be great but doesn't read inants temperatures well. I bought an ear one a few months ago and it is fantastic! It is called ThermoScan by BRAUN.. it is sooo easy to do and fast! It was soo hard to get my son to sit still, and I never got an accurate temp. I brought it to the doctors and took his temp with it after the nurse took his temp and it got the same reading! It is a great thermometer and I would suggest it to anyone I know. It roughly cost $50-$60. I honestly forget how much it cost, but I can honestly say it was worth the money!

I have a ReliOn that i bought at  Walmart 4 years ago.  It is acurate, small and has a case with storage for the covers.  I think it was 30-40 dollars and they still carry in them in the store.

I also have the tempural thermometer. It is MORE accurate than an ear thermometer and takes less time and completely not invasive and comfortable for the kiddies. less than 40 at walmart

My pediatrician actually recommended the Exergen Temporal Thermometer.  It's quick, works great and is very accurate.  I think Babies R Us sells them for about $45, but I found mine at Walmart for about $34 (I think).  However, not all Walmarts carry them.

I have a Braun...supposedly it's the best one you can buy. As long as the batteries are strong, and you change the lens filter, I find it very consistent. It costs about $80.00cdn. Good luck!
