asprin ??

i am 24 weeks pregnant and my OB GYN has told me that my baby is below average size ( about the size of a 21 week baby ) she has put me on asprin what does this do and is it safe ?

It isn't generally recommended that you take aspirin during pregnancy unless for medical reasons. If I were you, this is a question I would put to my doctor. ALWAYS, ALWAYS be clear about why your doctor gives you medications (including aspirin), whether you are pregnant or not, but especially when you are pregnant. You are entitled to know the reasons, and you are entitled to understand how that medication is supposed to help as well as any potential side effects. No question is a stupid question. Your doctor is obligated to give you information. If you don't know why she has put you on aspirin, you have not asked enough questions in your visit.
