My daughter is 11 years old, and she wants to start babysitting but I don't know if you have to be a sertain age in order to do so.

If you are in the US, check the laws in your state. Some require 13 years of age, some require certification in certain areas such as CPR and first aid.

ETA: Personally, I would never allow an 11 YO to sit, neither for me, nor my 11 YO to sit for someone else. That is putting entirely too much responsibility on a child of that age, and I'd be concerned about her ability to handle potentially dangerous situations. It may be best for her to wait until she's a couple years older, in order to give her the best opportunity.

I agree with Shawnn that 11yrs is very young for babysitting.I personaly wouldnt want an 11yr old to babysit my son.

Hi Taryn I dont know where you live,but here where i live in Switzerland they have special babysitting programs that young people can absolve. If they do it and search for a babysitting job in the local newspaper for example they mention that they have done the programm. So i dont know if there is something like that where you live. 11yrs is abit young,but maybe google in the area you live if you have to be a certain age.Good luck
