My son did the same thing for awhile. When his father and I divorced, we moved in with my parents. He would only sleep in my room. Then I got remarried. When we moved into the new house, my husband and I told him that he must sleep in his own room in his own bed. It went well for awhile, then a few months ago, he started coming down after I put him to bed, or he would wake up in the middle of the night saying he was scared and tried sleeping in my bed. He did this every night for about a month. And everytime, I would take him back to his room and say that he is safe and must stay there. I really feel that consistency is the best, at least in mhy situation. I felt like he was testing me. One night, I even stood in the hallway while he cried and threw a temper tantrum because I would not let him out of his room. So after what felt like torture for a month, he finally sleeps all night in his room, and is really proud of himself. So, just keep sticking to your guns, and don't give in. OR you could try that if he sleeps in your room he needs to sleep on the floor in a sleeping bag. That's what my parents did to us. Hope this helps! And hang in there, it will get better!
