I think 16 weeks is too early to be showing, with me it was 5 months before you can see it, but it will definitely grow, especially in the last 2 months - just enjoy it! I loved being pregnant - it is an amazing feeling, especially when the lil one starts kicking and you can not only feel, but see - it's amazing!!! :o) xxx

I hope you don't sleep on your back....When pregnant you should sleep on either side but preferably the left(helps your blood pressure)....No laying on back because that puts pressure on your spine. I've read that you can wait until the halfway point or 3rd trimester but I started as soon as I found out and I was only like 3 weeks. But yeah, you are far enough to be showing!

it is normal. same thing happens to me...when I lay down my stomach looks normal. I'm 4 months pregnant with my second child so I have a decent size belly already.

Thats a baby belly for sure, mine used to reduce significantly even at 32 weeks when I lay down, enjoy your bump and be proud of it!

this is normal and u will notice urself gettin bigger as time goes by hope it all goes well x

I am naturally a very thin build, so to me the bump was aparent and obveious, but to others they all joked about how it looked like I had finally had a decent meal, the midwives at 6 months even said "you sure your in the right place" The day of my delievery after my shower I had gone to use a pay phone on the lower level of the hospital, when I came back up the ladys at the desk told me visiting hours were over... What you see is what you see, not only the fact that you notice the difference before everyone, but you can feel it there too which makes it even more apparent. Oh how a baby belly makes you feel, its soo sweet :D

yep, it's normal. gravity pulls the baby and the uterus back toward your spine when you lay down. In that position the belly will be flatter because everything is pushed in farther.

It's normal, especially if it's your first. When you stand up, the weight of your uterus and it's growing size make it fall forward due to gravity. When you lay down, gravity pulls it back in. Also, some women carry farther back and it takes longer for the belly to truly show. I was around 16 weeks with my first before I "waved the white flag to comfort" and bought maternity clothes. With my second, I was about 10 weeks along. Just one bit of advice, since you can no longer suck your belly in, when you are standing, make sure that you are standing so you can't see your toes. This will exercise your abs and back muscles so that pushing while in labor is more efficient. Good luck.

I think 16 weeks is a little early to be showing. I didn't start getting a belly until I was 5 months. No one asked me if I was pregnant until I was 6 1/2 months. It all varries though, on a person to person basis

It's normal, and it will become more apparent you're pregnant as the days go by, just let go of the worries and enjoy the growth.
