Big baby /Large Shoulders??

At 36 weeks i had a u/s and my dr said that the baby was approx 6lbs 9oz and that her shoulders were measuring at 38weeks so she recommended a c-section. I have one scheduled in 3 days at 39 weeks, 2 days. My dr said that if she were to come before then, she would have no problem with my trying to deliver vaginally. Now, I know the chances of going into labor in the next 2days are slim, but just curious of any similar past experiences and their outcome.... Thanks

Both my daughters measured big at my last ultrasound. Honestly, I wouldn't go c-section unless it is absolutely medically necessary just because it is a major surgery.
That said, if it is medically necessary then I would say okay to have it done. BUT to be honest, I went almost 3 weeks overdue with my first daughter and she wound up being 9 lb 1 oz - vaginal birth, minor tear and then 2 weeks overdue with my 2nd daughter who wound up being 9 lb 8 oz, vaginal birth, 2nd degree tear because her shoulders were up/down instead of the correct horizontal position.
It is entirely possible to give birth to larger babies without having a c-section. If the c-section is needed to save your baby's life, then yes, but it is a big surgery to do if it isn't needed.
