Bowel Explosions

Have any of you experience your children not having a bowel movement for several days and then when it comes, it really comes. Yesterday, Makayla showed signs of having a bm and when she was done, I went to change her and I discovered that it went up the back, side, front and nearly coated the entire lower half of the inside of her outfit. How do I get her explosions to happen more often so that they are not so massive?

we had the exact same issue with my BF was nice not having to change a messy diaper for days, but man o man did he make up for it!

my sister in law is a kindercare teacher and she told me that the Bumbo seat helps with, it isn't marketed as helping with digestion but apparently it does. so i started sitting my son in it while i pumped in the mornings and everyday, when i took him out of the chair and changed his diaper, there was poop! a much smaller, and more manageable amount of poop!

i know this sounds silly, but it helped us :) good luck

This is quite common if your child is teething. There is nothing you can do about it but make sure that she is getting enough fruit and vegetables to keep her regular. This has happened to all three of my kids at some point.

My breastfed babies used to do that. I can't tell you how good I got at removing mustard yellow stains from their clothes!

if she is a breastfed baby try re-offering the first breast rather than switching sides as this is where the higher fat content milk is, this seemed to help with both my kids. not really sure on bottle fed bubs as i breast fed both my children
