I have breast feed my 7month old boy from the start and I am wanting to start giving him a bottle every couple of days so I can get my hasband to help feed him. I have try everything from different teats, to different formular and he wont have a bar of it. He has just started sucking on the bottle that has water but as soon as theres formular he will stop.
Help, and suggestions
Thanks jules

Do you actually leave the home when hubby is giving the bottle? My daughter didn't like the bottle much and very often when we went out for the evening she hardly drank anything. But missing one feeding is no big deal for a healthy 7 month old kid. Do what you gotta do and don't fret over one missed feeding.

Try giving him breast milk in the bottle and gradually adding formula to it (if you want him to have formula that is). Or use water and add a little formula to it. It often takes about 4 weeks of putting a little bit more formula and less breast milk in the bottle until the bottle is all formula (I mean like 20ml or 0.5oz at a time, very small amounts) - and that is with babies who are having several bottles a day - if your baby is only having the occasional bottle you can expect it to take longer.

I nursed my son but i had to supplement him at an early age.Good ideas with letting your husband do the feeding and start him on some real food and even a cool sippy cup with his favorite cartoon character may help and you can by-pass the bottle all together--good luck

Let the frozen milk get nice and warm. It's warm coming from your breast, so maybe he has an aversion to the coldness of it. Also, if you are holding him while feeding, he's probably thinking, "Just give me the real thing, Mom!" Pass him off to someone else and leave the room when you try a bottle.

Has your husband tried giving him the bottle? Try leaving for a little while to see if he'll give in if he doesn't see or smell you! Also another suggestion is to make sure the milk that has been frozen is warmed to the same temperature as the breast milk that comes out of you. Good luck just keep at it and hopefully he'll cooperate!

Hm...weird. Maybe try pumping fresh milk. Does he eat jar foods yet? Can your husband do those feeds?

Can you pump milk and put that in the bottle? He's had the good stuff for seven months now, he's not going to want anything but that!
