I am having trouble producing milk and am going to need to start supplementing formula. I have tried several things to boost my supply with no positive results, much to my dismay. I have tried giving baby small doses of formula mixed with breast milk and he refuses! It is very frustrating due to the fact that the milk I do have is so valuable to me because of the drop in my production! I can't stand to waste a drop. Please no negative comments. I would love to provide only breast milk, but it is becoming obvious that I will need to supplement a bottle or two everyday pretty soon. What can I do to get baby to drink the formula? Is there any off the wall thing I have not heard of that can help my milk production? I have spoken with a lactation consultant already. Have tried fenugreek with no positive results.

Pump frequently for 20 minutes every pumping session. Pump right after feeding your LO. Drink "Healthy Nursing Tea" and eat a bowl of oatmeal every morning. You'll see a great difference.

Have you tried fenugreek and blessed thistle. I was told it needs to be in combination. I find that fenugreek by itself does little but with the blessed thistle it works very well. I drink 1-2L of the tea. I use 2tbs of ground fenugreek and a large pinch (ie small handful) of blessed thistle per litre of water. You can also try adding a couple seeds of esphan (available in halal grocery stores) to each litre of the mixture. It strengthens the potency. Good luck.
