Breastmilk sharing question- please help

I am currently breastfeeding my 5mo old baby boy. I am back at work and I can only pump about half of what he consumes. He refuses all formula, and gets really upset. We tried all brands. We tried mixing together. By days end he is cranky and nurses on me all night. I have tried fengugreek, I have tried oatmeal, drinking tons of water nothing increases my supply. Weekends we have no issue if he is nursing.

I met a gal that has a 3 month old she is breastfeeding. She "says" she has no health issues, and does not do drugs or drink. She has an abundance of milk and gave me some frozen milk. She said she can continue to give me some extra milk if needed.

1. Is this ok to do? has anyone done it?
2. Is there some place to get the milk tested before i give it to my baby?

Any help is appreciated

I am not sure if there is a place to have the breastmilk u were given tested. But there are breastmilk banks where people donate breastmilk....There is a process that each donor has to go through first(testing)...and then the milk goes through a process to make sure it is safe. I would look for a breastmilk bank for breastmilk. U just never know about someone else's milk that has not been tested.

Another thing to note is that pumping after a feeding is going to be very different then pumping in place of a feeding. You are going to get much more when you are pumping in place of a feeding. When u pump after a feeding you are getting "what's left". When you pump in place of a feeding you are getting the "whole supply".
