I had GD in my first pregnance i am very worried i will have them again. my first child was born at 31weeks! Im also worried bout that happening again i know why i went into preterm labor with my daughter. an me having GD was really a blessing then cuz te drs was expecting a 2pound baby and thy got a 4pound baby. it helped her fight threw it and get better quick. how can i keep myself from geting GD again? and how likely is it that i will get it again?

It's VERY hard to avoid GD in a second pregnancy if you had it with your first. However, this time you will be better prepared, which helps. Start out on the right foot by eating as though you already have GD -- no sweets, watch your carb intake, and eat lots of lean protein and vegetables. I would make an appointment very early on with your doctor, and work with him or her to make sure that you are eating enough to gain the appropriate amount of weight, while still eating in the right way to control your glucose levels.

Speaking with a doctor and a dietician before you get pregnant again would be your best bet to get the answers you're looking for.
