My baby girls father is taking me to court for visitation, can I request supervised visits and also can I request that my baby doesn't have contact with his girlfriend or her children?? He has made threats in the past that he would take her away from me, I fear he might do it if he is not supervised. I don't want his gf or her children to be involved or around her because they live somewhat of a dysfunctional lifestyle. Plus I think he should have one on one time with Our daughter, supervised of course. I've been supporting her on my own since she was born. He has helped but very little. He chose not to help me with her because of selfish reasons. I know how important it is to have a father, but I am scared that he'll take her and I'll never see her again. Please help.

Can you prove he's an unfit father and should have supervised visitation only? Can you prove that his girlfriend and her children are a danger to your daughter? If not, then you can request all you want but it's more than likely not going to happen.

You can request anything you want. Whether or not it is granted depends on how much evidence you have to support your request... and what the judge feels is in the best interest of your child.

Once you have a court order it would be incredibly stupid of him to take off w/ her as you can then pursue him for kidnapping.

You can't dictate what happens at his house unless it is putting your daughter at risk.

Just because he hasn't helped until now, doesn't mean you can decide when he sees his daughter and who he brings her around. If there are court orders for the custody then if he doesn't return her when he should then you go straight to the police and file a missing person report.

You may find that he was just threatening and won't actually follow through with taking her away.
