I've been cloth diapering for about 15 months now.

I made all of mine. My pattern is there (I designed it). There are lots of other free ones too though if you wanted to try different ones. I like pocket diapers the best (like Fuzzi Bunz or Bum Genius if you are familiar with those brands). Mine are sized, though, like FB. Some people like one-size (like BG) but I think they're way too bulky on small babies.

I wash mine every 2 - 3 days. Hot/cold with soap nuts (, then hot/cold with nothing (to get thoroughly rinsed). I either machine dry, or hang them outside if they need stains removed or better sanitized. Sun will get rid of most things. Dawn original blue will also 'strip' them if they need sanitized, but then you need tons of extra rinses until all bubbles are gone.

I definitely think it's worth it. We've had far fewer diaper blowouts with cloth, which actually means LESS laundry. DH loves them and is constantly telling everyone about them (he even brought them into work to show off to all his coworkers with kids!). The only "issue" we have (which I think is actually a LOT better with cloth) is that lately DD will stick her hands in her diaper after she poops because she wants changed...but that's better than just taking it off!! It would be a lot bigger mess that way lol.

Let me know if you have other questions!

I loved cloth diapers. I used pre-made velcro type with rubber kooshies pants on the top. I found my daughter had far fewer rashes with cloth. I also used and wouldn't be without the flushable liners that wallmart sells, far easier cleanup! Just peel off the liners, flush them allong with most of the waste. I had a diaper pail in the bathroom wich was allways filled with water and borax for soaking as soon as I changed the diapers and I washed with specialty baby soap and rinsed once with vinegar and once with just water then I hung them on a rack on my balcony. It really isn't that much more work and I saved money and I feel better about doing my part for the planet.
