crawling and red knees?

My baby just started crawling but now she has these horrible red knees.. They don't seem to hurt her but they are red like a lobster and look dry and somewhat kinda cracked. Any ideas what I can do to help with them? We never had this problem with my oldest so we are lost as what we should do. Thanks!

My lo had those too. We just tried to keep her knees covered and I applied some breastmilk. They healed quickly.

This is a bit extreme, but if it gets really really bad you can get crawler knee pads, yes its true, sounds silly right, but apparently some kids actually make their knees bleed. I believe the doctors usually say that it bothers the parents more than the baby and babies dont usually notice it so it doesn't seem to hurt them. It wasn't too hot when by baby was crawling so he was in tracksuit pants most of the time.

eucerin may help. its really thick. Also the breastfeeding lotion. Can't remember the name of it. Itcomes in a purple tube. Kinda pricey. Its really thick too. Just rub it in really good before he gets on the floor and it may help. if he has some old sweatpants, just stitch some extra padding on the knees and put those on him to crawl around the house. Good luck

My son was the same way and even though it didn't seem to bother HIM, it bothered ME lol I would put Lubriderm on his knees (it's a really thick lotion) or just keep him in pants. You know those Gerber cotton ones that come in like a 3 or 4 pack? I used to have tons of those and if his knees were really red I'd just put a pair of those on top of his onesie and let him crawl on.....

Edit: My apologies! Eucerin! That's the lotion we used. I saw another woman mention it and it dawned on me....Lubriderm is what I use for myself lol Sorry! Eucerin is a REALLY thick one. And the breast cream is Lansinoh....I never thought to use that but it's totally safe since it's ok to be on breastfeeding mom's.
