Can anyone give me some advise on how to manage a 14 month old who cries uncontrollably every single time we go out to a restaurant, or place where there a number of people in a confined space. We can't stay in restuarants as it gets quite embarresing, he gets that worked up I'm sure he forgets why he's upset in the first place, no matter what we do we can't seem to settle him. As soon as we get to the car and back in the comfort of home he's a totally different little boy who can't be happier. I'm at my wits end now...I just don't want to go out with him because I know he'll get hysterical..... HELP ME!!!

I'm sorry but that's typical at that age for a lot of kids. My sons like that when we go anywhere he carries on like he's tired and grumpy and everything get him home he's happy full of energy. It does get some what better as they get older. My son is a little better at around 25 months. He still can be a handful though. It's just a matter of finding what works for him.

It's just out of his comfort zone and it's a matter of finding something that keeps him comfortable. I can't say what that is though. I can give suggestion like take his favourite toy and blanket. What ever would normally comfort him at home try when you're out.
