You will get further with your daughter if you recognise she is an adult like you are and speak to her on equal terms. You and your husband are the householders and have the right to set your own ground rules for anyone staying at your home. This is the line you should be taking - that it's YOUR house and you make the rules. NOT that you're the parent and she's the child.

Make it clear that the rules would be the same for anyone else staying at your home and that it's not personal.

Allow her to make some rules of her own, or at least be able to state her expectations. You may not be in agreement but some open, honest communication will show both of you how the other feels.

Why is she rude/disrespectful of your husband?
