I can not seem to get my children to listen ( hear) most of what I say. They do what their father asks, and listen to him, but when I ask anything of them, as small as, please put your shoes away. I am ignored

What consequences do you enforce for them not listening? Why do you think they listen to dad but not you/

Well I feel a bit more details would be beneficial in answering this question but based off my own experiences I find that the way you treat your husband really affects how your kids will treat him if he has a short temper that could be another reason kids off and want to make their fathers proud and their moms happy but if they really aren't even putting their shoes away there must be something bigger as a problem maybe he could be laziness I was a teen once a kid and I got pretty lazy when I had school stuff to deal with really look at the psychology behind their unwillingness to listen i'm sure you're doing your fair share make sure to let them know that and that you need them and you love them kind of phrase it differently though like I need the trash taken out try to be make it more about you than them trying keep the word you out of it though if that makes sense make it more as they're helping you not doing things for you when you say you take out trash right now it they will go on the defensive but if you say I need the trash taken out can you give me a hand it might trigger something where they know it's OK if they do it sorry I know that was long-winded but I hope it was helpful blessed me and marry meet
