Do any of you have children age 9+ that suffer from insomnia? If so, what are you doing to address this issue?

I have an 11 year old girl that suffers from insomnia. I have tried several things and now unfortunately am medicating her. I do not want her reliant on medications for sleep. I would like to help her develop a healthy sleep pattern?

Looking for suggestions and/or personal stories if applicable

I also don't like medication for children, or even myself. Work on developing sleep hygiene, a specific routine that you can always follow, certain habits that you will always adhere to. Do you know if she has any stressors? they don't even have to be major to your eyes, but to her they can seem life altering. Insomnia is cause - almost always - by stress.
