My daughter is 5 in a couple of weeks and has asked to have her ears pierced. Do i get them done for her or leave it another year or so?? I have explained how its done and told her it will hurt but she still wants them done??

If she's asking and you think she responsible enough to take care of her ears and not loose her earrings...then sure...why not? Make a fun girly day of it.

If you want her to, go for it. She is not too young IMHO. A couple of pointers (I used to pierce ears) get the inverness system NOT the "pop" gun, that is spring loaded and hurts a lot more. It can cause more damage also. The inverness is hand powered and is less painful and heals nicer....also the posts are not as thick. Also, make sure 2 people are available to do it. One person marks the ears, and one person stands on either side and does the piercing at the same time. Good luck, make a nice special mother daughter day out of it!

it depends on your daughter... will she will let you take care of them? my girls had them done at varied ages and they all did fine.
