Do sisters with medium age gaps grow closer as they age?

DH and me have three girls of 8, 4 1/2, and 1 year old (so, evenly separated by 3 1/2 years).
We just had different situations which didn't make it possible or desirable at the time to have them closer. Now I can see how hard is to make them to share things.

I would like them to grow up as good friends. Also, would be good to find things to do with them and it is hard to find anything.

Any advice?

Siblings are siblings no matter the age gap. Some days or minutes the are going to be best friends and some days minutes worst enemies. As the grow they will change with their age. Now it is fighting over toys when they are teens it will be different issues and hormones, but then their will be moments when they gang together to do something fun or get after a boy that broke the heart of one. Each one will develop their own relationship with the other and this may change over the years. Growing up I played with my sisters that were closer in age ( 1 1/2 yrs and 3 yrs difference). But now that we are all grown I am closest to my sister that is 5 yrs difference.

My kids are 3 1/2 yrs apart first two, two and three are 10 yrs apart, and 3 and 4 will be 4 yrs apart. Each one has their own special relationship with the other. Even the first and the third. Sometimes they are doing their own special thing together and other times they are picking on each other.....that is all part of being a sibling.
