it might just be me but it seems like every time my son doesnt do things at EXACTLY the time doctors and the health nurses think he should , they start making me paraniod. how about giving these kids a chance to do things on there own instead of assuming that all kids are alike and will do things at the exact right time!

Time lines for milestones are important for doctors, to make sure your child is healthy. Not hitting some milestones by the time expected can be signs of a serious problem. I am sure your doctor isnt meaning to make you paranoid, but it is their job to make sure your child is healthy, and growing well.

Yea, its hard because doctors now a days a so weird. It's like they don't have time to really help you any more. If your doctor doesn't make you feel comfortable then maybe you should find a different Pediatrician? Good Luck

i'm sure they just want to make sure ur son is healthy :) i would appreciate the concern because i'm sure they only want to help. My pediatrician sent us to a speech therapist for my son, and i knew he'd be fine, but we went anyways, and when we left i felt even better because the speech therapist told me how smart he was!! All kids do diff things all at their own time, but it's nice to know that u have ppl there to help if you guys need it :)

I know how you feel, although, with my daughter is her height and weight that they freak out about. I'm a small person, so is my husband, it doesn't surprise me when my baby is under the average height. She's up and running around and she's still breastfed so the fact that she's a little under the average weight isn't unusual. Her last check up (12 mnth) her doctor started talking about sending me to a nutritionist and sending my LO for blood work just because she's little. I started to panic, we schedualed a follow up appointment and she's fine, healthy and happy. As long as your son meets his milestones within a reasonable amount of time there is no need to worry.
