What did they prescribe? MRSA is becoming a real challenge outside of hospitals. It used to be that only hospitals and nursing homes had MRSA patient. Teens are the new carrier. Did your family getting cultured to see if you are carriers. If this were my child, I would request a refferal to a infectious disease specialist. I am a school nurse in a huge district, and we have had a number of MRSA cases in the last 3 years. No bad outcomes thank God!
To parents, if your child does develop a boil, or a large, hot, red painful pimple ANYWHERE but the face; watch it for a day. If it gets larger, does not begin to reduce, get your child to the school nurse or to the doctor.
