My son is 8 months old and will be nine months old on the 18 of this month and he weighs 25lbs. He usually wakes up at like 6- 7 am and I give him a bottle and he goes bk 2 bed til like 9 am. I just feed him when he seems hungry. He only gets a bottle when he takes a nap or goes to bed. The rest of the time he eats off my plate oand has like 1 jar of babyfood a day. What and how often should he eat a day oh and how much at a time?

It isn't so important to regulate how much he eats, but WHAT he is eating. Let him eat until he is full, but make sure his diet is balanced.
Most of his food should be fruits and veggies supplemented with breastmilk or formula. I don't know if he is getting breastmilk or formula, but if it is important to remember that formula is higher in sugar and calories, while breastmilk is higher in natural fats and proteins, so a baby on formula will often be heavier than a breastfed baby. If you are using formula, make sure he gets extra servings of lean proteins, such as legumes and lean meats. This will fill him up and keep him full longer than simple carbs and starches.
Keep carbohydrates (breads, pastas, etc) to a minimum.
Also avoid processed foods (anything you buy already prepared, like frozen meals, hamburger helper, etc.) and definitely avoid anything fried. A tablespoon of olive oil has over 120 calories! So if you sautee some veggies, you've added over 300 calories to an otherwise healthy food. Instead, opt for roasting veggies in the oven.
A good breakdown that I follow is for every serving of meat or carbohydrates, he should get 4 servings of fruit or veggies. So if he has a meat and a fruit for breakfast, he should have at least 3 more fruits or veggies during the rest of the day. If he has a carbohydrate, like macaroni for lunch, he needs to have at least 7 more servings of veggies that day. Personally, I think that's a lot of food, so I try not to have meat and carbs in the same day.
