Doctors are mandatory reporters, and if your doctor has a concern in any way, she is obligated to report it, even if just for a social worker to follow you up after the baby is born. If you have a recognised addiction, and you were taking them at some stage through your pregnancy, and only recently stopped, then there is still cause for concern for your child, as both of these things can affect the development of your unborn baby. So there may need to be supports put into place to ensure your baby gets the care it needs and develops appropriately following its exposure to your addiction.

Well, does this doctor have your history from all that you have been going through since you began treatment? Maybe this doctor is worried about how much the baby is exposed to when you were have additions to these drugs. And also what you feel is doing good and what they consider doing good are two different things. If there is a grey area that is a concern do you not think you need to ask what they mean by that? Because if you are not totally where you need to be when this baby is born, then they can call social services and take the baby. I am surprised they told you they would do that unless they have been told to tell you that.
