Ever since our baby was born, my partner and I keep growing further and further apart...please help!

I need advice from anyone that may be familiar with how and why a new baby can put major strain on a relationship...and most importantly HOW to mend the broken relationship before we treat one another so poorly that we reach the point of no return. My partner and I were not exactly the rock solid marriage type before our little girl was born, but despite our problems, I still could feel the love and knew we both wanted to work on things. We used to always say that we both were not the type to just walk away when things weren't going smoothly...we're both a bit stubborn and believe in keeping one mate for life. Recently our daughter turned 7 months and we are now at the point of speaking of the idea of breaking up potentially because we both just feel we are on a downward spiral quickly. He says I "can't " change and I'm unsure if he either "can't" or "won't," but I know that I must do ANYTHING to turn this around before its too late because now...its not just about us, but our daughter too. One of my biggest fears in the world is for my daughter to come from a broken home. I just was not raised that way. I don't even know where to start. Can anyone give me any advice on how to keep my family together? :'(

Dont be scared of the broken home aspect, i'd be more scared that your daughter would be raised into a house with no love.........

Maybe you need to re-evaluate what your expecting of each other. Some couples counselling would go a long way.

You will both change, his cant/wont, may just be a fear of failing expectations.

The only thing that will save you is communication and listening to each other. If you cant get that working, maybe seperation is the answer, over living with animosity.

If you lowered your expectations of your partner, to the bare minimal, would that change how you looked at him???
