Babies like their fingers in their mouths (and anything else they can get in there soon!)
Still hungry usually is accompanied by fussing/crying even after nursing. If he has a poo and half a dozen wet diapers a day (24 hrs) he isn't dehydrated.
Try to hold off to 6 mos or older for solids- they are more prone to allergies if introduced to solids too soon.

Many babies put their hands in their mouth for a variety of reasons - it's perfectly normal. Just check that your supply is OK - is he having at least 6-8 wet nappies a day, and some pooey ones? If so, your supply is fine. If not, there are suggestions in the "Breastfeeding Moms" community as to how to increase your supply. I think it's a bit early for solids - most experts suggest waiting for the middle of the first year.

All the best!

he could be starting get teeth, babies also put their hands in their mouth all the time, I would hold off feeding him for another month or so.
