I need to know I am pregnant my baby's due in 3 months. The father has not been in its life at all. Do I need to file for sole custody. And how hard do you think you'll be to get sole custody. I was told I had to do this in order to get child support . It scares me that he's not been in this life but may get joint custody

If your baby isn't even due to be born til 3 months from now... you have absolutely no sure way to determine if his/her father is going to be involved in his/her life. Until that baby is born it's only YOUR life that the father is or is not involved in....

Your child is entitled to a 50/50 relationship w/ both parents unless there is solid evidence that doing so would be harmful to the child. Once the child is born... go to court to establish custody, visitation, and child support...and be fully aware that w/out solid, documented evidence against the father (like police records of drug abuse or a history or crimes against children)... it is highly likely that if the father pursues joint custody it will be granted. It's your child's legal and moral right.
