Food Intolerances-Others giving them these foods

How can I get some people to understand that my almost 22 month old can't drink milk, have ice cream or chocolate? Any time she eats these foods she has major bm explosions. At this time her body can' handle these foods. There are certain people, including family members that keep trying to give her these foods after being told not to give them to her. I don't know what to do! My daughter does not understand that she can't have them and that is why she has tummy aches with major bm explosions followed by a rash on her bottom.

I know this post is years old, but wanted to comment anyway. I have a friend who has a daughter with life threatening food allergies, as well as a cousin-by-marriage in the same boat with all 3 of her kids. Even though people have heard them say their kids can't have this or that, even though they've seen the results if they have that food, some people STILL want to give the offending food(s) to their children! Why? Because sometimes people just don't "get it" or, sadder still, they don't think a bad reaction will happen every time or feel like the kid is "missing out" so they need to experience it. Those people, the ones like that, you can only stand your ground with and never, ever leave your child alone with. You will probably always have to "be the bad guy" and even insist that if they can't "follow the rules", then for the safety of your child, they cannot be allowed to be with them where food is involved. I know - that's incredibly sad, but sometimes it is what must be done for the health and safety of your child. They would be mortified if their actions lead to a serious problem, and no one wants that day to happen. Be as loving as you can, but be firm and pray they will get it. The life and health of a child are no small matter, and I wish more people understood that. You (and those like you) are in my thoughts. Best of luck!

Tell them they cant and if they continue to feed you children foods which will harm them they cant be around as it is not in your childs best interest.

well she is lactose intolerent and while in most cases this is not a serious illness if it is causing your daughter to have stomach cramps and rashes then cut ALL dairy products from her diet straight away. Lactose is the sugar found in milk and products made from milk. and you need to firmly tell you family and the certain others that she can not have dairy products.
